FREQUENTly ASKED QUESTIONS

  • During the consultation, you and I will discuss why you are seeking therapy. What would you like to work through? What brings you here? Based on what you share, I will assess whether or not I can help you. If we are a good fit, I will share with you how I plan to help you reach your goals. This is also an opportunity for you to interview me! Ask me questions about how I practice, ask yourself if you feel comfortable speaking with me, ask me about fees...whatever!

  • When working on growth and personal development, there is no specific time frame. Depending on the types of changes you are looking to make and the variety of struggles you are looking to work on, therapy can last from a few sessions to much longer.

  • Individual therapy session - 50 mins

    Couple Counseling - 60 -90 mins

    Coaching - 45 mins

  • I am an out-of-network provider. If you have a PPO, you may be eligible for reimbursement from your insurance company through superbills. You may want to consult with your insurance carrier regarding this benefit. I am happy to provide you with an invoice that can be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement.

  • My fee range varies by service provided. Rates for services can be discussed during our phone consultation.

  • My cancellation policy requires 24-hour notice of cancellation. Cancellation with less than 24 hours notice requires payment in full.

  • Once a week is standard for individual therapy, couples counseling and coaching, though you are welcome to seek more sessions during the week if you are in crisis or would like more insight.

  • There are many benefits to therapy! Some include: Personal growth, gaining a better understanding of yourself, learning how to manage emotions (big and small ones!), improving self-esteem, feeling comfortable with setting boundaries, feeling happier, developing more fulfilling connections with people, making positive changes to problematic behaviors and learning how to manage stress. The list goes on and on! The benefit ultimately depends on how committed you are to therapy. Throughout the therapeutic process I will check in with you about the progress you are making and changes you might be seeing and feeling within yourself; as well as offer ongoing insights into issues you may be struggling with.

  • I provide a safe, non-judgemental, and compassionate space for you to process difficult and not so difficult thoughts and feelings.

I will ask questions - some harder than others - so you are understood.

I will listen, provide feedback, respond appropriately to what you are sharing and empathize with you.

I will provide you with coping strategies.

    I might give you homework.

Most importantly, I will respect your process, and meet you where you are - mentally and emotionally.

  • I take on a much more interactive and collaborative approach in our sessions. You can expect me to explore thoughts, feelings, behaviors, the past and the present, and the conscious and unconscious.

  • Confidentiality is one of the most important components in therapy, as successful therapy requires a high degree of trust. With few exceptions, the highly sensitive material that is discussed between you and me will not be shared with anyone else without your permission. For example, I may share information with your medical doctor, but ONLY after you have provided me with written permission to do so by signing a release of information form. In addition, therapists are legally mandated to make certain disclosures in cases where there is suspicion of harm to oneself, harm to others, or child abuse. All such disclosures will be discussed with you in advance.

  • I am a Clinical Psychologist - which means I am a Doctor of Psychology. I have obtained a license to practice in the state of California.

  • Yes. As of now, due to COVID-19, all sessions are conducted via video or phone.
